While writing a resume, you need to be careful of a lot of things, as this document will tell the employer, whether, you are suitable for the job post or not.Keeping this in mind, I have discussed a few do’s and don’ts that you need to take care of, while writing a resume.
Do’s while writing a resume
• Keep the resume length to maximum 2 pages
• Mention your career objective in one line
• Mention your skills in a bulleted list, so that it is easy for the employer to read
• Mention the work experience before the education, if you have to focus on it more
• Mention only one reference in your resume. Keep in mind that the reference should be of a person who is in a higher post than you.
Don’ts while writing a resume
• Do not use fancy fonts in your resume
• Do not write your skills, work experience or education in paragraphs. If done so, the employer might not read what is written and might throw your resume in the trash instead.
• Do not mention any personal or family information in your resume
• Do not mention the expected salary in your resume; this can make the employer think that you are more interested in money and less in work or your career
• Do not give any wrong information in your resume
These were some do’s and don’ts that one should take care of while writing a resume.
